Welcome to a behind the scenes look at Ese and the Vooduu people and what they have been up to...

Yesterday we promised you lots of news over the coming weeks.
So, Vooduu Children, here's the first. Ese Okorodudu and Sheena Ross are back performing with The Alabama 3 in February!
Three dates confirmed so far - Brixton Jamm on 2nd, Dumfries on the 3rd and Shoreditch on the 9th (sorry this one is a private event)!
More details on our events pages imminently!

So, our next bit of big news... the legendary photographer @Kevin Cummins (Joy Division/New Order, Smiths/Morrissey, Bowie, Stone Roses, etc) has been photographing Ese Okorodudu. Here they're looking at some of the images.
No wonder Ese looks pleased - they're amazing photographs. You'll see the results soon!

Yay! The test pressings of our album have arrived from Optimal in Germany! And they sound brilliant! Production will begin shortly! #allanalogue #vinyl

The Bread and Roses a "A hidden gem in the heart of Clapham!"
Expect ethical beers, a warm atmosphere and quirky events that will keep you coming back.
ESE & The Vooduu People's first show of 2019, at the Bread & Roses in Clapham, was a good 'un! A truly spectacular show. The band gave an awe-inspiring electric performance that was played to allot of 1st time listeners. With Ese in great tone and the band with fluid brilliance the crowd were not shy in showing their appreciation. With an extended version of “Alien” and an off the top of the head reorg of some drum frills on “Peace of Mind” and the crowd were in literally in the palm of their hands. What a rip-roaring show.1
Two sets of pure magic - setlist as follows: Grey - Up In Smoke - I Don't Mind - Police & Thieves - Alien - Peace of Mind - Fly Away // Where Did I Go Wrong? - Dub - Family Affair - Untitled - Keep On - Dynamite - Fairytale - She Said - Lies - Silver Spoon

Here's a little gift for you, Vooduu children!
Our old friend Syd Philipps, over from Strasbourg, came to our show at the Hootananny Brixton last Friday and filmed this clip of "WDIGW" and "Family Affair", which we wanted to share with you

Out today! The new single by ESE & The Vooduu People, "Keep On". Available to buy on Bandcamp now as a stream or download, in various resolutions up to 24/96!
We love it - and wait until you hear the sweet, sweet harmonies of Ese and Sheena! You're gonna be blown away!... See more — 📷excited at RAK Studios.

Yay! ESE & The Vooduu People have been named as one of the acts to look out for in 2019 by "The Guardian' newspaper! Mat Snow Ese Okorodudu Basile Petite Pharoah S-Russell Sheena Ross Steph Hanglan Tag Ara Kevin Whitlock
— feeling cool at Hootananny Brixton.

This is Caspar Sutton-Jones, and he works at Gearbox Records. He's been mastering our album through loads of gorgeous vintage Studer, Decca, Maselec and Telefunken gear to get the lovely rich, beefy sound we were looking for.
Caspar's also been busy cutting the lacquers for the vinyl (that's Gearbox's 1967 Haeco Scully lathe he's standing next to). The lacquers arrived at the record pressing plant in Germany last Friday and they'll go for electroplating into stampers soon.
We're expecting the first test pressings in about three weeks! Exciting times! — with Steph Hanglan,Jackson Baird, Sheena Ross, Basile Petite, Pharoah S-Russell, Kevin Whitlock, Ese Okorodudu and Mat Snow at Tileyard Studios.
